My fellow Kmart Robins will know what I’m talking about. They play some of the worst music EVER…and you’re stuck having to listen to it for an 8 hour shift. Kill me.
When I first started working at Meijer they played some of the worst, most god-awful top 40 crap ever… and it was almost the exact same songs every night, so after a year I would not be disinclined to travel back in time and murder baby Avril Lavigne in her crib.
Now, I do have to mention that after the first year or two they switched their music to some kind of national in-store station that played AWESOME stuff. Not only was it a broad range of classic rock and decent newer music, but they rarely played the same thing that often. On an given night, they might play Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, hell I even heard them play Guns ‘n Roses and Ozzy on occasion.
Ever since then, I’ve worked at jobs where I could play my own music all day. But I feel for people who still have to put up with that shit.
